Sandwich was best chicken sandwich I've had 5/5. Potato casserole and fries were 4/5. Tenders 3/5. Sandwich is with the trip.

I returned because I knew I had to try the duck fat fried chicken. OH MY GOODNESS! It was so crisp, flavorful and fried to perfection. Literally the best fried chicken I've ever had! It comes with house made biscuits and pepper jelly and whipped butter. I knew the portion would be plentiful so be prepared for it to service 4-5 people or enough for left overs. We paired with it the duck fat fried yams, creamed corn, and greens. There were ZERO disappointments. My beau and I emmmm'd and ahhhhhh'd with every bite. Lol. Lord, Chef Tiffany never misses.

Simply spectacular. From the host to the server to the delicious food...and Tiffany Derry stopping by! This place was recommended to me during a Super Bowl Pepsi DigIn event, and I am so happy it was. The cornbread with smoked butter was perfection, the redfish with crawfish fried rice was divine, and the orange juice butter cake was amazing!

So, here I am with another review. When you dim the lights, so I know that they want me to focus on who I am with. I like that. You can hear music but it is slight, not so overwhelming that I have to yell to speak to the individuals I am with. I love that. You are greeted by two hostesses with the biggest smile and you feel their energy. I rate this experience a 5. Our waitperson, Sofia B., was attentive but knew when to leave us alone. I liked that. You really can't teach good service and they have it. They even saw how much I didn't like the water and told us they had Voss water. Game changer. Thank you for that. I give them a 5. Now for the food- Please order the cornbeard. Please! Matte of fact order two. The butter alone had my feet swinging. So the skillet cornbread comes with Steen's Syrup, Sweet Potato Butter, and Cranberry Apple Preserves. Yeah, this gets a 5. Next up the Greens. Yeah, they said potlikker so now I am excited and they put onions on it just like my granny from Mississippi and my papa from Arkansas. But it was a little flat for me. Like the love was missing or something. Maybe slow cook a little longer.I don't know. Baby Turnips, Potlikker, Smoked Pork, Hot Water Cornbread. I don't have to have it again I give it a 2.5. Fried Green Tomatoes Jumbo Lump Crab, Ravigote & Radish Relish. I just didn't like it at all. Cute concept just not for my palate. And I love Fried Green Tomatoes in all the different variations. But they were hard for one and the combination of everything was a no for me. 1 So, why are we calling something yams that aren't yams in my book? I don't know. They are potatoes that have a sweetness. Now did I like them yes. But I have to mark the rating down because they need a new name. 2.5. Deviled Eggs Local Farm Eggs, Chow Chow, Shallot Lemongrass Chili Oil, Crispy Chicken Skin. Take of the Chicken Skin because it had no flavor and you have a wow in your mouth. Keep the Chicken Skin and it is most definitely an oh okay. So, I am going with a 4. Duck-Fat Fried Chicken. Can I be honest I know this chicken probably is very good when cooked right. But on this night it wasn't. The crispness of the chicken was on point. But the flavor profile for me was lacking. I just don't have to have it again. I give it a 2.5 This is crazy! The drink I don't remember the name of it. It was peach mango or something. And it wasn't the best it wasn't the worst it was just a drink. 3 Now the rice!!!!!! Crawfish Fried Rice!!!! Baby!!! Chef's Kiss. Like I wanted to take some home. To be honest I tried to order some to take home but the kitchen was closing. Now I would most definitely come back and order two Crawfish Fried Rice and be happy. Now I am going to go above a 5. I have to give the rice a 6. The final rating is a 3.9. I would go back just for the rice. Like no seriously the rice. I am rounding up to a 4.

Oh my goodness the Red Fish was amazing and the crawfish fried rice was the best rice I have ever had perfectly seasoned and prepared. My better half had the lamb chops and I tried them against my protestations and they were delicious l. Please visit and for sure we will be back. The pictures done do all the justice but just imagine.

We made reservations and good thing we did cause the restaurant filled up quickly! It's a trendy spot -- whether for date-night or night-out with friends, a live band plays here too! (possibly nightly or just on the weekends) Cast Iron Cornbread -- delicious! Fluffy and moist, the cranberry jam and the smoked butter made it that much more mouth-watering Amazement - I typically don't like blackberries but this drink was very refreshing, I highly recommend it Duck-Fat Fried chicken (the star of the show!) ~Our friends took us here because it requires a 4-persons minimum...and I see why because the dish is an entire whole chicken haha -- delicious, tender and juicy. The chicken skin is a nice crisp and the flavoring -- peppery and paprika spices -- a good kick and it enhances the dish even more. SO typically doesn't like too spicy and he really enjoyed it, along with me who typically doesn't like chicken skin and I also ate all of it l o l Definitely a local spot and so glad to have been able to try it, hands down one of the best fried chicken entrées I've had Try to check it out if you can, you won't be disappointed!

Roots Southern Table provided an unforgettable experience for my wife's 1st Mother's Day! From the warm hospitality of our waitress, to the smooth Jazz musicians & of course the mouthwatering dishes, every moment was cherished. The menu offered a delightful array of Southern classics with some dishes incorporating a modern twist. The ambiance was inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Our server went above and beyond to ensure my wife felt celebrated on her 1st Mother's Day and the complimentary rose was a special addition. The live music which was one of my favorite genres, Jazz was being played that made you feel as if you took a step in the past at an African American Juke joint. A true gem for any occasion, but especially perfect for honoring my wife on her special day! We ordered sweet tea, biscuits greens & hushpuppies, duck fat fried chicken, shrimp & grits, and Texas Red Fish. Everything was absolutely delicious. However, the duck fat fried chicken stole the show for me and the Shrimp and Grits were southern flavored with a modern twist. I've never had shrimp and grits as a deep fried delicacy wrapped up in ball. That was quite the symphony of flavors in my mouth. This place is a must visit if you want to taste some deep rooted southern flavors, southern hospitality with a dash of modern.

Dining here was quite the experience- small restaurant with a special curated menu by Chef Tiffany. Decided to check this place out for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. There no doubt in my mind that this is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The menu is a delightful celebration of Southern cuisine, elevated with a modern twist. We started with the cornbread, which was perfectly moist and flavorful, setting the tone for an exceptional meal. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the best of Southern cooking with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service was impeccable--friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance is perfect for both a casual night out and a special occasion, with a charming decor that makes you feel right at home. Roots Southern Table is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary experience that pays homage to Southern roots while embracing contemporary flair. We can't wait to return and explore more of the menu. Highly recommend!

Love the vibe of this place! Service was friendly, attentive, and super focused on detail which we all appreciated as a big group. We had a huge assortment of food from their menu but the stand outs were the Fried Chicken (share with the folks at your table), Fried Squash Blossoms ( SO FREAKING GOOD), Southern Sweet Tea! They do rotate out some of their items so know when you are looking at welp what you see may no longer be available. Also make sure to make a reservation! This place on the weekend gets packed and full of reservations and can't take walk ins.

Foodie Alert! If you're craving Creole and Cajun cuisine with a modern twist, look no further than Roots Southern Table. Every dish is a work of art! I loved the mouthwatering cast iron cornbread, served with smoked butter and strawberry jam, or the savory deviled eggs with chili oil in every bite. One of my favorite entrées are the Texas Red Fish, bursting with flavor and served with crawfish fried rice. And to top it off we had excellent service! Just note they have a time limit on how long you can sit there which means it can feel a bit rushed when eating. But overall definitely recommend dining here! #MsHopeEats Kool Aid Cast-iron cornbread Deviled eggs Texas Redfish Ora King Salmon croquettes Orange Cake
